S’MORE
Our S’More chimney cake cone is generously spread with Nutella and topped with creamy Gelato soft serve that melts perfectly into the warm, gooey center. A torched giant Marshmallow adds a delightful twist, while crushed Graham Crackers and drizzles of Chocolate and Caramel sauces complete this heavenly treat.
Ingredients
Gelato is similar to ice cream, but it has a lower butterfat content, which gives it a more intense flavor and a creamier texture. Gelato ice cream is made with a base of milk, sugar, and sometimes eggs, and it is churned at a slower speed than ice cream, resulting in a denser and silkier consistency.
Did you know that Nutella was created during World War II? In the 1940s, an Italian pastry maker, Pietro Ferrero, faced a shortage of cocoa due to the war and decided to add hazelnuts to extend the limited supply of chocolate. This led to the creation of a spread called “pasta gianduja,” which eventually evolved into the beloved Nutella that we know today. Nutella’s rich history and origin during a time of scarcity highlight its innovative and resourceful beginnings.
The first recorded version of the s’mores recipe can be found in the “Tramping and Trailing with the Girl Scouts” handbook from 1927. The handbook describes the recipe as “Some More” and outlines the traditional method of roasting marshmallows over a campfire and placing them between two graham crackers with a piece of chocolate.
Chocolate has been used as a currency in the past. The ancient Mayans and Aztecs valued cocoa beans so highly that they used them as a form of currency. Cocoa beans were considered a luxury item and were used in trade for various goods and services.
