It’s a mandatory stop for me every time I go to Venice beach (which is a lot). They have ridiculous flavors that get your attention. I absolutely love their Lemon chimney cake ice cream! Their cake is absolutely delicious on its own and made fresh everyday. The lemon one is filled with lemon curd and caramel and raspberry syrup topped with graham bits and sea salt. It’s phenomenal. I don’t feel gross eating it after.
Brownies, ice cream, walnuts, Nutella inside the “cone”. Just a few of my favorite things wrapped into one. Soooooo delicious. The soft serve is high quality and the dough was cooked well but not hard. I’ll definitely go back next time I’m strolling around Venice beach. Worth the price.
This place is SOOO delicious! I got the Brownie ice cream, my friends got S’mores and Birthday Cake. We loved it so much, we couldn’t stop raving about it. Next time, we’re going to hit up the Venice location. It was super hot today so get your pictures quick before it melts!! And thanks for the IG story feature Turn Dough!!
First off, the ladies who work there are super friendly! They greet you as you approach the window and are extremely helpful. I asked for her opinion and I am glad I took her advice. You can actually watch as they make the cones fresh and as they assemble each desert masterpiece!!!
My husband ordered the Oreo in a cup and I ordered the brownie in a cone. The brownie topping was moist and just the right sweetness. The cone was scrumptious! I’m a churro addict so I appreciated the cinnamon cones! It was soft with a little crunch. I usually never finish the cone when I eat ice cream but I just had to eat it all up!!! I love that the cones are also lined with Nutella!!! It adds a little something special to an already amazing dessert!
This was a perfect treat on this hot summer day. If you are ever biking on Venice Beach or simply wanting a cold desert, stop by Turn Dough!

Super solid spot to grab a sweet treat. Located right on the Venice strip ( which is either a pro or con depending who you ask and how you like crowds ). I really appreciated the friendly staff that greeted me as well as the quick wait time for the cone. The choices were endless and the menu of ice cream was abundant . Everything starts with a vanilla base and goes from there. Although the ice cream and toppings were delicious on my Reese’s peanut butter cone, I really was a fan of the cone itself . It’s more of a “turn dough ” almost like a cinnamon roll. I thought it would get soggy with the ice cream, but no ! It was delicious. I wasn’t a huge fan of the extra peanut butter they put in the then dough cone, I would try to get it without when I go back. But yeah, the cone was delicious despite the overwhelming peanut butter and everything was so cute presentation wise. Definitely would come back if I’m out in Venice and craving a sweet treat!
It’s in a great location right at Venice beach walk. Ice creams are very good. I have tried Fruity, Matcha, Coconut Rafaello and Toffifay ones and I think I like the Matcha one better. I recommend visiting this place!
Loved every scoop of that sundae which I finished all the way to the bottom of the cone but the fun didn’t stop there as I started working on the warm, soft chimney cone.
Excellent customer service provided by David and Anastasia. This recent experience definitely motivated me more into making another trip to Venice Beach. Thinning now is the next flavor I should choose.
A great spot for a treat on the Venice boardwalk. They hand made the churro like dough right there or at least did while we were there and it was well worth it!
We ordered a Smores and a Caramel. Both were dessert picture worthy that you hate to destroy and they tasted so good!
You get your choice of vanilla, chocolate or a swirl custard. The toppings are the perfect amount, not too much, not too little. The only hard part was eating it quick enough before it melted !!
They place it in a cup making it easier to manage, you get a cute wooden spork and they already know you’re going to need some wet naps and have plenty of napkins!

Refreshing ice cream that melts in your mouth perfectly after a hot day walking through Venice. Writing this Yelp review because the staff was incredibly nice and helpful when choosing my flavor. I got the Golden touch and birthday cake!! The portions are huge so you can definitely share a specialty cone with someone AND get a milkshake (less messy). So many options to choose from so I’m definitely going back with a friend to knock out all the flavors!

I came here for my birthday and got the Birthday cone and the Gold Karat one, first off they are definitely instagram worthy but take a pic quick because they melt fast.
This place is located in Venice on Ocean walk. The ice cream is so creamy and absolutely delicious. Love the variety of flavors that they have. My friend and I loved it!
We MADE IT!!! Brought my foodie girl friend to this World Famous Chimney Cakes with Ice Cream shop located in Venice Beach, and we are so impressed with their customer service and the delicious icy treats. Their cones and ice cream are handcrafted daily from scratch. Street parking is available but it might be crowded on the weekends, this shop is walking distance to the beach so the views are STUNNING.
The girl who introduces the menu and helps us order is SUPER helpful and she is very sweet and friendly. What an amazing experience!!!
Very delicious! There were so many options in Venice Beach to get ice cream but Turn Dough is by far the best. You will not be disappointed. I had the Matcha Chimney Cone and it was exactly what I was craving to satisfy my sweet tooth. The workers were so nice and friendly. The cone was made quickly too, 5 min wait max.
I have never tried matcha until coming here. My sister and I were craving ice cream and this place popped up right on time. The cone is FANTASTIC!! We were so worried it would be hard but it was soft and held up to the ice cream phenomenally. I cannot wait to get back to Venice beach just to have ice cream from here again!
Although I’ve been to Venice Beach hundreds of times before, I never really gave this location a try as I tend to stick to savory flavors instead. But boy, am I glad I did! I had the honey and pistachio cone and my nieces had the M&M’s topped with Nutella. Both were very delicious. The only downside was how fast it melts but that’s due to the warmed cinnamon cone. I was not upset whatsoever though! The women at the counter are very friendly and helpful, while giving me time to decide and offering suggestions and their personal favorites. I have recently moved out of state but I think I might need to make more frequent trips!
THIS PLACE IS AMAZING!! Recently I found this place while walking down the boardwalk and saw a sign for ice cream with cinnamon cones. My friend and I ordered the Lemon Curd cone and the Nutella Dream shake. It was the most amazing thing I’ve ever had. We devoured both and were amazed at how delicious they both were. I can’t wait to go back to Venice to order new flavors!!
This place deserves more people to come here. It’s seriously under hyped. I found this place while browsing on yelp and the cones intrigued me. Especially the picture with the S’mores on the cone so I figured I would try it. It wasn’t too expensive and I felt like it was worth it. It was sooooooooo finger licking delicious! I got mine with half chocolate half vanilla ice cream and it had a toasted marshmallow on the top with caramel and chocolate sauce and graham cracker crumbs on the top and on a cinnamon sugar dough cone with Nutella in the cone. OMG it was soooooo good! The hit for me was the Nutella cinnamon sugar cone. I loved it so much! It wasn’t too sweet or too much. And it was so beautifully presented 🙂 I would definitely be back. I walked all the way from Santa Monica pier to Venice beach just to eat here. Would definitely be back!
We had the best time! We knew the Hollywood location but when I saw them at Venice we had to try it! As always, it was delicious! We got the Nutella, Raffaelo and Bday Cake, which by the way was the best. It comes with a candle and they give you matches. That was funny! Found tables close by.
